Having taken possession of my new 2007 3500 Mega Cab 4x4 SRW just two days past, I am pleasantly surprised with the quality and updates since last owning (2001 2500 ETH/DEE) a DC product. I have read in that some people were not happy with the 48RE, headlights, the interior fit and finish, drivability of the Ram.

I only have a measly 231 miles on my truck but initial impression is that this truck is light years ahead of my last DC product and even ahead of the 2003 FMC truck I just punched off for engine problems.

The power is linear and smooth throughout the power band and comes in right off the throttle, the transmission (48RE) handles the power well and smooooooooothly, NAV / stereo system is good coming from the factory and I am even happy with the economy that I know I am going to get out of the truck.

Of course I will upgrade the lights and speakers in the truck, but I am very happy today with my return to a Cummins powered truck!

Upgrade headlights?

I don't know how you could upgrade the headlights much more on these '07's? They really light up the night and are a match for our '05 Honda Pilot. I'm glad they're not like those new Euro cars that blind me upon approach. So far I am real impressed with my '07. Only gripe is the raked cab. I'm pretty tall and wish Dodge squared it off more like the Ford Superduty's.

I am another guy with absolute love of my truck, great mileage and power. Fit and finish seems to be great also, 22K on mine and it is still under a year of ownership. Seems alomost too good to be true that a truck this big can nail 20MPG on a regular basis. Scotty

OMG--- If there are some complaining about the headlights on third gens==>> you need to drive a second gen // with lights on and off // no difference, the lights absolutely suck on second gen trucks!!

The 06 headlights are awesome compared to the "sold" 01. The best improvements are steering, noise and overall tightness. Bouncy ride is similar but tighter feeling like the truck doesn't feel like an overweight diesel is up front anymore, good job dodge. I could live with the 01 but I needed auto so I wasn't the sole driver. You couldn't get me to go back, no way! Haven't towed with the AT yet but looking forward to it. Both chevy and ford seemed to steer/drive better in the past but not anymore. I still can't figure out how they improved the steering as the setup is the same as before and I spent countless hours adding upgrades to the 2001. It must be mostly in the steering box improvements itself. If that's true why didn't Dodge redesign those weak a-- 2nd gen steering boxes or someone in aftermarket to give decent steering. New ratio is 2. ?:1 which also helps.
