Well I'll put this up for those of us who like to watch or follow the TRUE factory hot-rods,Superstock and the baddest class of all. . SS/AA. These results were sent to me from a good friend out there and checked with Drag Race Central for any mistakes.

26 of the nations finest SS/AA Hemi cars were in attendence with most all of the top Hemi engine builders represented. . Barton,MacCallum,Nicopolis,Steward/Baughman,Holton,Wescott,Tueton and a few we probably missed. There were a combination of 25 Dart's & Cuda's along with 1 1964 Plymouth Savoy(The 64 Savoy is the only other car to fit in this class per HP to weight rules). I'll post the drivers below and then follow with the round results. The 2003 SS/AA Hemi Challenge pilots were...

Fred Henson-68 Dart

Randy Hopkins-68 Dart

Sid Bonnecarre-68 dart

Looks like the bragging rights go west for a year. Well I hope all the Hemi lovers enjoyed these as much as me. IMO these are the "Factory Hotrods" not the Pro-Stock cars as they are bragged up to be... ... Andy

Hammer,

Good Post!

Does John Friel still race? I remember see his dart "on the bumper" many times.

Post some more pics if you can.

Bill... .

The Friel "Under Pressure" 68 Dart has been parked for a while now. Word has it he is getting a new motor done and may be out for the Dutch Classic. he has been parked for a few years due to money and business problems.

I'll tease you with a few I've found from out there. i'll try to get some more up after Aerosmith/Kiss concert tonite... ... ... Andy

Jerry Jenkins winners circle...

The new "Bunker Hill" bullett. . Bucky Hess's ''King Cuda".

I did not get a shot of him yet from there as weather has delayed the race,so this one is from earlier in the year... .

That was a great highlight. Although it's always better to see a real final, rather than a foul. But, a win is a win! He had the better time regardless.

This rain sucks, only got to see a few Fuel runs and Pro Stock runs. I am a big fan of the Pro Mod guys and gals! The old timer racers (SS/AA Hemis) were a blast to watch, serious talent.

"The Elephant"

The Hemi when unrestricted, without handicaps, without penalties will dominate any form of racing it is utilkized in. PERIOD! Look at it`s history. Top Fuel,Funny Car, Pro Stock,Super Stock, and Nascar. Plus it just gives you a woody when you look at it. It is the CTD of car engines. :D

Well said, DK. :D There's nothing like the site of the elephant under the hood - as well as the affect it has on the cars it rides in - with their front ends up in the air. :D

Oo. Oo.
