Competition New Cryo Machine at SBC

Off Roading Best price on Posi-Lok?

This Saturday Byron and I will begin the reassembly of the Red Rocket :D

My new transmission is here from Suncoast in Florida complete with new automatic valve body and new O/D switch as well as a complete rebuild, torque converter and flex plate

Piers called me last night to let me know that my new engine in ready for pick up A completely balanced 14mm studded, girdled, . 020 over pistoned heavy valve springed, stage 3 cammed, double O-ringed engine with new nitrous system and water to boot This is going to be a fun season of racing now to finish stuffing some 17 inch wide slicks under the truck and go racing

I need to thank Piers and Suncoast and Randy's Off Road for all there help putting together this major rebuild of the Red Rocket in such a short timeframe

These guys have all bent over backwards to help me

and of course Byron without all his hard work we would not be anywhere near where we are with this truck I will have pictures of the assembly up on my website www.RedRocketDiesel.com :D

Pics are great Hoss.

re the pistons ... flycut -vs- those & cam lift. can you go past the stock pistons 'cam lift' restriction with those? or are you not going that far.

Holy cow that Canadian is getting serious!!

. 20 is almost a 1/4 inch!!, That is a pretty big overbore on an already thin 5. 9 block, but you da man Piers!!!

393? cubic inches?

Yea well we mean buisness this year :-laf there is only about . 020 clearance between the 14mm studs and the pistons now but its all good

Gene if you only knew what we are up to over here you would be  we are having a lot of fun :-laf

You can't lead when you are following.

Great news HOSS, are you going to come out and play? Sounds like you have a great ride for the Pro Street Shootout. $30,000 guaranteed purse in 6 races. A little bit of traveling, but well worth it! We'd be honored to have you. If not, that's cool too, have fun and stay safe.

Eric,

I will be doing some traveling this summer that is for sure. I am going to be at May Madness for starters and I will hit Firebird Raceway in Boise Idaho a couple times (My mom lives there so I go see her and race) I will make it back to the great state of Texas to the Nowel Thomas Memorial Drag races where I will defend my title from the likes of Snow White :D I also have a points series right here in my back yard to run at  so that will pretty much fill my schedule. I would like to try to get back to Bandemere in Denver again to hook up with Scott Benz and the boys from ATS we had a great time there. But if it works out I would love to hit a couple of your races. Thanks for the invite we will see how it goes.

It is nice to see the westerners FINALLY going beyond bolt on parts and outrageuous correction factors, keep it up, Hoss! ;) :D

Where the heck do you get the "outrageous correctionfactors?" Not sure what kind of correction factors you run but here at nearly sea level in the Seattle area there isn't much of any correction factor. That is IF you use one. I know the one diesel dyno that I trust runs uncorected so you get to see what you actually make on the rollers at the time of the run NOT some crap correction factor that is inacurate.

GTS that probably flew right over your head. You are replying to an inside joke

Not too mention, why are you over here now? Are you checking in on how unhappy all these guys are with their PDR twins? After all, they have extremely high drive pressure and EGT's, don't they? ;)

The cool part is going to be when Piers tears into these motors that we have been pounding on for years, so far mine is just a little sloppy for piston to wall clearance but other than that it's fine, guess I'll have to pull the pan before I ship it back.

Jim

Hey Hoss..... Are you gonna make it out to IRP this year? (trying to remember the new name... . ) Diesel Thunder? I know I'd love to see the Red Rocket run in Person!
