It's been a while, but someone at coffee this morning started in with the Ford owns CumminGs BS. And, yes, of course, the 'G' was in there. I bit my tongue for a while, but had to unload on him. LOL. I was trying to find the letter that Cummins used to have on their site about this, but it appears to be gone. If anybody has a copy, I'd like to have a little fun with it.

It was probably closer to a partial reality than most realize

https://www.nytimes.com/1997/01/04/...e-buys-back-1.3-million-shares-from-ford.html

Not that Ford had anywhere near the shares required to ever make any substantial decisions but the timing of the agreement of the resignation of Ford appointed board members is likely more than just coincidence (1990 - one year after the first Dodge Ram CTD)
Oh, I am well aware of all that. But at that same juncture, Tenneco bought an equal percentage as Ford, and Kubota somewhat less, but I have not heard anyone say Kubota owns Cummins. I started my own rumor that Cummins was started by Buda, thus came Cu-Buda, which became Kubota. Never got any traction, though.
