This comes from the control of the suspension when taking hits on the road. The truck takes the hit and goes on about its business, basically a single event.
Like Sean said above, you can play with the shock pressure to tune the ride how you want. Up front I ran 250 for the first week or so, but that was to firm on road. I have been running 180 for the last month or so, and like that pressure for the road. I took the truck on a nice high speed runs last week and it took up all the bumps with ease. I was doing 50 or so where I would of normally been doing 20 stock. Only used about 3/4 or the shock travel.
I just changed the front to 150 to see how I like it, seems a bit soft now. But I will run it that way for a week or two the decide where to change them next.
As for the rear, they are at 200 and a bit tight, but the rear end sure locks up well. I need to drop them down a bit, but have not gone under the truck to adjust them.
I have the 2. 5 with the stock valving now. If I decide to change rates or can’t find a setting I like, I will just revalve and rebuild. No big deal should be a piece of cake.
i'm cool with all that but do you guys offer a kit thats for stock hight, i would like to replace all the springs and shocks and still have the same hight, maybe drop the rear some to make it level--only for street driving and raceing. is there anything out there for me? thanks
