Folks,

Stumbled on the Chief Makoi channel 29.5M total views a while back. He's a Chief Engineer on bulk ocean freighters and does a great job pulling back the curtain on life at sea.

Curious, does the ship have a canal pilot, yes, responsible, NO. Does the ship have a "black box? Uh huh.

Here's three of his Suez Canal videos, transiting the canal, who's paying and the current situation.

I hope they do not get another wind storm in the Great Bitter Lake area where it is anchored, as given(that's funny) it's size and windage it's tiny anchor would not prevent it from being blown onto the beach. There is a possibility that the Suez Canal Authority could ban it from using the canal in the future.

There is only one auto and one RR bridge across the Suez canal that connect the two largest continents.

Just need to pay out more chain! Let her eat!

First picture is the traffic in the Med to and from the Suez and the second the South end. Guys directing this traffic are lot busier than the cop at a stop light that is out.

Here’s something that I did not know....

The Ships owner has declared “General Average”..

Check it out in the link, there is an explanation partway down..

Something similar happen to one of my buddies that had a construction company. He paid Waste Management to haul away some hazardous waste from a construction project. Years later the EPA sent him a bill for his share of the improper disposal that Waste Management did with the hazardous waste.

Snoking, that ties in with what a friend from many years ago told me. He said, that hazardous wast belongs to the original owner in perpetuity.

It's been years since I last saw him. He owned the trucking company that transported the product and they only moved at night. There wasn't much else he could say, nor did I want to know, and everyone in the company had to be thoroughly vetted by a number of agencies. He did say that the storage sites were only the custodians of the product and if the site needed to be relocated it was at the producers cost. Must have been some nasty stuff.
