The symptoms of a bent front axle

I live at the top of a 2 mile climb, steep enough to keep the EGT at 500 under 15psi of boost. Sometimes, when I get out of the truck I can hear a soft whistling from amidships, underneath. It's worse when just filled up, and the sound quits immediately when I open the fuel cap.

I replaced the fuel lines last winter. Any ideas what it could be?

Thanks.

There is a vent on the filler hose somewhere. On some trucks the shipping safty cap was not removed from the vent. I've never heard of that hsppening to a '95 but you might check.

Joe,

Doesn't the fuel system "pressurize" a little when the engine is running? I was under that impression and that the sound I also hear was that pressure slowly leaking out. Mine has been doing it since I got the truck, and I haven't seen the safety cap on the tank. I made sure of that when I dropped the tank toreplace the sending unit.

Both the tank vent and fuel cap are supposed to release pressure when it exceeds 3 psi. I hear the hiss on my rigs when the tank is full also, it's normal.

whistle

with my silencer ring out and the bhaf, i can hear a little whistle. it sounds good to me. my OWMBO says it's offensive... ... ... ... ... . maybe she's right???:D

Nope, and I took the darn whistle back to the company where I got it, They said no warranty. I guess thats the way it goes. . Oh well I knew it was too good to be true.
