So last week my '06 wipers starting behaving erratically and then quit. Using common sense and the TDR, it suspiciously sounded like an electrical issue. My 03-5 service CD says there is a relay but to my surprise, the '06 has a TIPM in place of the fuse/relay box and isn't real user serviceable.

I felt all along that the motor was getting sufficient current, it just ran slow (in fast) and not at all in the other positions, then just quit.

I decided the quickest route was to try a new motor (Advance Auto $38), which did nothing. I took it to the dealer where the writer said he never heard of a TIPM issue, and said it was likely the motor. $93 later, he ordered a $125 motor for me. Installed that last night, no change. Took it back this morning and told him to try again.

He just called and said it was the TIPM, and while the truck is out of warranty (52K), he'd install a new one for $200. Perhaps it cannot be just flashed, I dont know.

Anyway, add this to the archives.

Yep, I have had two resets in the last month of plowing. Front turn signals first. Low beams next. Have made it through the last two snows though. Fingers crossed. More snow tonight and tomorrow.

the t. i. p. m. on my 2004 is fried. i have no trailer lights on certain trailers, some lights on others, a huge mess. anyway, i took it to a trailer repair/sales shop and the owner (a former dodge dealer mechanic) tested all the wiring and said that all the wiring checks out to be good, the problem appears to be in the computer. what advice can anyone give me when i go to the dealer? i might still have some of the extended warranty left. can this be "flashed"?

No it cannot be flashed,Only 06 and Up are flash compatible this circuit is fried in Your TIPM/PDC ,to stop this form happening after YOU install the New PDC 47/46 MUST HAVE ONLY 10AMP fuses. If this is urgent ,and You cannot find one we have them.

Thanks,Dodge.

Concerning the TIPM "improvement",I'm reminded of the saying,"If it works, don't fix it". Dodge fixed it. This is a great question to bring up with the Live Engineers deal coming up.

Have D/C improved the TIPM? I am getting a new one in my 06 hopefully in the next several weeks. Wiper troubles... Does my 06 have a PDC also? I trailer with this pickup quite a bit and don't want to cause premature failure so interested in the 10amp fuse info. Any other info to prevent this $1100-$1200 diag and replacement next time would be great. Don't much like thinking of dropping this kind of money on a wiper problem.
