My alarm has a mind of it's own. Several times while the truck is locked the alarm goes off (on) I did read in pervious text the alarm can't be bypassed. I believe the culprit is the the computer & the dealer will change it out. In the meantime can I just disconnected the battery & lock the truck manually. Possibly related I have a rear door harness that is shot & wondering out load if that is setting off.

Yes because the Alarm listens to the door lock mechanism, so a broken harness sure sets it of. I had also random alarms till I changed both rear harnesses and since then never again.

Best do both sides at the same time.

On mine one side was obviously bad, but out of curiosity I pulled back the rubber boots from the opposite side too and sure enough multiple wires were badly broken almost down to a single strand.

I got tired of the alarm going off (couple times random, others when door opened thru window) so I disabled it. Well, sort of.... I rewired my horns directly to the steering wheel switch. The horn worked without routing thru the computer, so when the alarm went off, it was silent; just a bunch of flashing lights. :D
