Help on recommendation for beating Fuel costs with a scooter -

Sick of diesel price threads...........

Theft from our farm shop late March 7 or early on the 8th, North Central Missouri, near Chillicothe. The following items. These are the larger things taken, other items too numerous to mention and I’m sure yet others we still aren’t aware are missing. We roughly estimate $15,000, could go to 20.

This is not the first theft in the local area, there have been several in the last 60 days, with similar items and quantities taken. I assume these items are not going to appear locally, pawn shop, what have you, for the simple reason the numerous places hit lately would create too larger a volume to dispose of here.

I called the Sherrif Dept, Grundy County, this morning on discovery, it is now evening and they have not been out to see us. As for the rash of thefts recently they have no leads (I wonder why!). Had they come this morning we could have told them what we were missing, we could have told them we are looking for a 4wd, mud tires, some other things about the vechicle, we could have provided shoe prints, tire prints, other things I won’t mention here. To say the least we are disappointed.

On a long shot I am posting this, maybe some of these items will show somewhere. Thanks for listening….

e-mail, -- email address removed -- , needless to say, video surveillance starts going in tomorrow……. .

Im surprised they didnt show up faster with the missing firearms. Oh well, just opens up a door of liability on the LE side *shrugs* if the firearms are used in comission of a felony.

If there's 20,000 dollars worth of stuff missing, and they didn't send someone out that morning, I have to ask one question: is the Sheriff getting a take? :--)

Remember, that's an elected position. The citizens have the power to fire him. It's worth the effort to get results in the long run. ;)

Good luck

Eddie

That sounds like it would make a lot of noise removing all of that equipment and like they'd need a big truck to carry it all. Are you heavy sleepers? Sorry to hear about your loss, it's amazing how evil some people are.

I'll keep an eye at farm sales up here and maybe I better start locking my shop up as I have all Snap-on and Mac tools and numerous other items also that would be easy pickins

99guy, your farm located in Farmersville? Just a thought, try looking on e-bay. I grew up just north of you and I would imagine it would be hard for someone up there; unless they had contacts in the city to fence the stuff, but it would be easy to store it in a barn somewhere and list it via e-bay.

If they were able to get rid of it, it's probably in K. C. or Columbia. My guess is though their stealing it so they can have money to purchase/fund their Meth.

I'll print off the list you have and keep it with me at work but i doubt it made it down here but then again you never know. Also if you have serial #'s make sure that is given to the Sheriff so they can enter it as stolen.

Don't know what to tell you about the response time. I'd call and talk to the Sheriff. I highly doubt Grundy County was so busy they couldn't of gotten there within an hour or so. Is G. C. still the Sheriff there.

Srenfro, an old aquaintence maybe??? I was born in 60. Yea, Farmersville. G. C. retired last year, we have a new sherriff, or perhaps lack thereof.

You won't beleive this, been so busy no time to post till now. We were hit a second time the very next night. Who woulda thunked it!!!. Then last night spent my evening nearer the shop with a shotgun, quiet evening though. Decided tonight to just load what was left in my trucks and park them in the yard.

The sad thing is, after talking to Grundy and Liv countys three days, we have learned as much ourselves as they seem to have in the last 60 days. I have aboustly no faith that they are going to spend much effort on this. There have been ALOT of this in a 20 - 30 mile radius of near Chula in the last two months, much more than even the media is being told. It took 12 hours for Grundy to see about our first theft Monday, then found out today Liv had not even been informed, I'll wast no more time trying to supply any info to them.

On the second night they tried, it seems, to hotwire one of my Rams, it was locked but they had no trouble getting in. Was hitched to 24' flatbed, guess they wanted it all. We have been reduced to packing heat wherever we go, locking everyting even if out for a few minutes, and keeping everything in sight. After being through this I don't feel we can ever make the shop secure, don't know what we will do.

Hey, drop me a email sometime if you want... .

I just got back from a clandestine lab training... MO is #1 for meth labs in the U. S. according to the instructor's information. Y'all even beat CA. That blew my mind.

Sorry for the thread hijack. I hope you recover your stuff soon. :(

Yep, Jefferson County is the number 1 County in the State and the Ozarks make an ideal place to make the stuff. Although it's all over the State now.
