Theft prevention, What do you use ?

Also, I tried removing the fuse labeled "Ignition FD" & my Truck (01 Dodge 4wd Dsl 2500) was still able to start... Can anyone clue me in to exactly which fuse to pull to (safely) prevent starting?

Aren't their outfits out there that etch most everything on the truck with your information so that it makes the body parts pretty much worthless? Every piece of glass is etched, all body panels and a lot of the high demand parts. Then in conjunction with something like a lojack, wouldn't that be a good deterent?

I have a killswitch mounted on teh door lock switch. . Works twofold, one, puts me in a lower theft % bracket, and two, makes me lock the doors before I start driving. This is especially helpfull with my other vehicles that are also like this, especially when my g/f is driving our Durango, helps me feel a little better knowing that a simple carjacking will fail.



Otherwise, it's doors locked, in gear, wheels turned, and insured.

i have a clutch kill switch, but i never use it. . gray key and doors locked works for me. good insurance is also nice. if they really want it, the will take it. if i manage to catch them though, i know many places to hide a body where it will not be found for a long time. .

A couple of these help quite a bit,the old white girl is just plain miserable towards strangers near "HER" truck,the young brown male is the back-up. In all my years of owning/being around dogs(most of my life)i have never seen a dog that loves to ride in my truck as much as the white one---heck she even happy to lie down and wait while i'm pulling wrenches hoping for me to take her for a quick spin around the block when i'm done working. Oo. Oo. Oo.

I see the last security thread was some 4 years ago. Someone pls. comment on the Ravelco Security Plug product. I just read their advertising claims & competitor issues, and sounds reasonably convincing to me.



Is $500 a typical install? Thanks.

Ravelco is still working for me ...
Seems that I paid closer to $450, but that was 4 years ago.
If you do search on TDR for Ravelco, you will see that others ALSO still like it.
The general concensus is that Ravelco is expensive, but worth it!!

is a SMARTY POD put the pod on a low setting

and the engine is so weak it cant move or maby it can but your grandmother will be faster than your truck! ive tried it. .

i live where i usually dont lock my truck often i take my keys inside but not all the time. .

at the store i keep it running all the time. . but on the other hand a few months ago ive noticed i have a defective lock so i can keep it running and take out my keys lock the doors and go shopping. .

One night at a hotel near the airport in Nashville, the factory laminate glass in my '06 was enough to stop some Jackwagon from getting into it. He tried to shatter it by stabbing it with a screwdriver. When that didn't work he chipped a small hole in it and began pulling little chunks off with some pliars. Eventually he got scared off or gave up. He was even nice enough leave me the pliars in my driver's seat. I then installed the alarm system in my signature and Jimmy Jammers. It has been safe since.

At home, the patrolling German Shepherds and several trusty Glocks do the trick!
