I was having the same "no throttle" problem at 1500 rpm in 5th or 6th gear.

Replaced lift pump, and service the fuel filter every 5k with the oil. Still the same but intermittant.

At 61,400 miles, the Dodge Dealer confirmed a VP44 pump failure. There goes another one, but at least it is under warranty.

THey also found a bad O/P sending unit and they want $280 for that job.

I think I will look into changing the sender myself. THat's crazy. Sounds like they're just trying to labor money for the VP44.

Anyone change an O/P sending unit before? I just have to find it.

Thanks and good luck to you all. Do NOT mess with the dead pedal thing.

By the pic in the shop manual, it looks like it's right below the bottom edge of the ECM (left side of the motor, below the fuel filter canister). Looks like a fun reach. Doesn't say the size of socket needed tho.

From one of the other posts, I read that it requires a 1 1/8 deep-well 6-pt.

I will try to get the part somewhere else.

THanks

There is a thread about it, and how to change it, and the cost that is pretty current.

I just added my own O/P gauge to cross check the OEM one. There is a good bit of difference on response time to show a steady pressure. My O/P gauge is marked every 10 psi vs the OEM one.
