My truck is a 96 dodge manual still with the five speed for now until I can find a six speed somewhere or my five finally gives up, but last Saturday I twisted the input shaft off right behind the clutch. I mean this thing looked like it had a Christmas candy cane twist in it. I guess that's what happens to us all eventually on the quest for more power. At least now that gave me the opportunity to put in the Mitchell pulling clutch, and the larger input shaft. :D :D Hopefully that will take care of that part of the truck for a while until something further back goes. Plus now I can put my 0 plate in the pump I got from piers.

The NV4500 is pretty stout... . with the better shafts and a good clutch they take one heck of a lot of abuse pulling and towing... .

The NV5600 will take some time to show how stout it is... . but the initial results have been relatively positive.

I have a question... Can you use the existing 12" Clutch with a 6 Spd?? I just bought a CON OFE, and would like to eventually get a 6'er..... is this possible without getting the 13¼" Job?

I don't think you can unless you already have the larger input shaft, because the six speed input shaft is bigger than the 5 speeds.

charlan,

Not a problem, we have taken the hub out of the 12" clutch disc for the con o and ofe and distempered them, had them broached to 1. 375 and re-tempered. If you decide to go with the 6sp all you have to do is send me the disc so I can change the hub for you. ;)
