Greatest Drop if "Gas" prices in history!!!!

5spd auto

I found 4 of them, $750 apiece, all he knows is they turn over. He bought old reefer trucks for storage and took the engines off. I have no idea who makes the engine, it has Thermo King written all over it. No turbos, looks like Bosch fuel system. I assume a zillion hours, and possibly poor maintenance.

Clueless on cubes, much smaller that a 4BT. Might make a nice generator, or a lawntractor repower. Maybe bolt two end to end, straight 8 your Jeep Cherokee!

Seriously, does anyone know anything about these little engines?

Depending upon the application model the are either Izusu or Yanmar engines. Pretty reliable engines. They are not really taxed in their application.

I have an engine from an old reefer (I believe it was also a Thermo King) that is a Mercedes diesel. It has a Bosch pump. The later ones I have seen are Isuzu. Carrier units use Kubota. The manufacturing plant is near where I live and I service the forklifts for the place that warehouses their parts. Kubota engines EVERYWHERE. Smallest are natural aspirated 2 poppers and biggest are turbo 4-cylinders. Reefer engines live a hard life. The newer ones start and stop a lot and the older ones were almost never stopped. I would want to crank it if I were buying it. I got mine free, but it is "stuck".
