Those of you who have installed a pyro gauge.

How did you drill and tap your thermocouple hole. Did you remove the turbo?

Is it necessary to do that? How did you tap without removing turbo?

Please give me as much feedback as you can as I plan on installing mine this weekend and would like other peoples opinion.

Help is greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks in advance

Dane

Use some grease on your drill bit and tap, then use a small magnet to fish in the hole after you are done drilling and tapping.

Make sure if you decide to install it from the side into the main plenum you don't try to drill in the center. There is a web in there so you will never break thru. Drill off to the side into one of the two "humps".

on my old dmax we left the truck running, put grease on the drill bit. the grease grabbed some shavings and leaving it running blew the rest out the hole you are drilling and tapping.
