Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Thermostat bolt tourque?

whats the correct tourque for the housing bolts?

I used the tight'enough methods... ... ..... Sorry I couldn't resist If nobody pipes up before that, I'll look it up in the manual when I get home.

I think it's 18ft lbs but don't quote me on that. Please someone correct me if I am wrong.

18 ft. lbs.

I don't have a service manual for the 2nd gen. engines. But I matched the bolt size in a 96 manual and it said to use 18 ft lbs. That is the same torque as the installation procedure in the 96 manual.



HTH... Maybe someone will chime in with an 2nd gen manual

+ or - 2 Newton Meters.



18 ft lbs is a little much for those little bolts.
