I had the coolant flushed and the thermostat replaced at the dealers a couple of months ago and the thermostat started leaking afterwords. I had a new one at home so I just popped it in and tightened the bolts to one grunt. I was very careful to not gouge the O-ring and cleaned the seat well. IT STILL LEAKS. Any Ideas??? Should I use some RTV??

opinions vary

I have seen a lot of problems with the 24v thermostats not sealing. I have changed mine once and had no problems. At work we have replaced them several times some times to get one to seal for the long haul. I would use High temp RTV but very little and be very careful to get it only on the seal, others will not agree. You definitely don't want that stuff floating around in your cooling system.
