Some trucks up here really do some work......and the drivers are top notch, one false move and over you go...click on the picture...

I can't make the video work:confused: but yes, that is a monster truck and load. On the log roads I traveled that rig would not work, not even a one trailer bulldog type would. It required a long logger style with compensator/reach steering. The roads were too steep with switchbacks too sharp.

I think it might be the HD version, I don't have that, dangit......

Yup, I clicked it off HD and now it works. Is that your video?

I think that's a tri-drive tractor....

I stopped the video when he was in the turn (grinding gears lol) and it looks like the front hub is different and the tires might be smaller? Is that a private road? He looks to be about 12' wide and 16' tall?

Nick

I think having someone recording him threw his timing off......and he blew a gear......

That's up on the Golden Road...

Just stopped the video several times, I'd say home grown tri-drive. Front drive on air, rear two drives on Hendrickson rubber block suspension with walking beams. There is a drive line from the rear of the front drive to the input of the second I THINK....

They get pretty creative up there and make many crazy mods.....one of Pelletiers had a Fuller 18 speed, and they added a four speed air shift Spicer Aux Trans behind that. They add extra air bags to the suspension, etc....

If you should ever venture up the Golden Road there is one basic truth.....It is a private road and all trucks have the right of way, empty trucks yield to loaded trucks for obvious reasons....many cars and pick-ups get put out of the road due to not following that basic rule.....the trucks can not and WILL not get over.....

Yes, standard procedure for logging roads. If there is not enough room for 2 trucks to meet, the empty truck backs up until there is room. I was always courteous about it if time and road allowed, especially if the pickup was an arrogant timber sale officer (TSO) :D

I've pulled 150K ++ with a dump trailer.
I'm pretty sure that guy beat that by at least 50 tons. Not to mention sheer size.
Plus I was on a dry paved road.:-laf

He must be part-time, as he doesn't have the engine horsepower in 6" numbers on the hood:D Or has that fallen out of fashion, Mike.

Now that is a good question!!

I'm betting on a C-16 600 hp + CAT (with a tune or two) and that the truck is a glider kit.......

Was that video originally from Shelly? My wife showed me one from her FB page last month with one of the Alagash boys pulling a double. Unfortunately, I'm not clever enough to have moved it here for all to see.

People on here have asked why some of the engine bays are soooo dirty on the logging trucks...

Well, here's what things look like after some rain..
