The fluffy crowd has taken over and as we know, all the big bad SUV's and Pickups are going to be made more small car friendly. The Durango has started by being lower etc. Take my word - it won't be long till a new Chevy Looks like it sits HIGH off the ground AND I'll bet they will someday make it against the law to raise your vehicle height at all!

They also skimped on any badges on the sides. Dealership said it saves DC $50 per vehicle... and that adds up. Only badge I saw was a small one on the tailgate.

I bet their just embarrased by the way it looks and don't want anyone to know who made it.

reason #45,645 for buying a 3gen pre-egr ctd

will last forever -- so you will never have to ride in a "lowered/gangsta" 4x4 :D

badging doesn't cost more than $5 per vehicle, usually.

back on topic- all I know is that if the new Dakota looks anything like the Durango, I'm sure as hell not buying another one.

My wife is not happy that the new Durango is bigger, or so the adds say. She liked the size of the Durango, but now she is disappointed because she can't buy a new new one. She won't drive a bigger SUV, like my truck. ;) But, if the Durango is bigger, is a diesel going to be available?

One thing you guys forget here is the Feds mandated the drop in suspension ride heights,Not Ma Mopar. Look at all the ride heights of the big pickups and SUV's and you will understand and maybe just overlooked it. I think the new Durango is killer looking and couple that with the Hemi addition, what a ride. I am working on Mrs Hammer to trade our 360 Dingo in for one for her,so far it has not worked:rolleyes:   . I can see it now,new Dingo,HEMI power for sporting about,22's or 24's on it and the new Kenne Bell twin screw huffer "Blowzilla" to help belt out the ponies for her. . he he he he he he he... :D :D :D ... ... . Andy

What's not to like? :D

I checked one of the new Durangos out. It would be great if it was 20% bigger, had a solid front axle, had an oil pressure guage, a manual transmission and ... oh well, I guess I'll just stick with my Ramcharger:)

I am about up to here with Sally Soccermoms wants and the Fed giving in to them. If SS would get the cellphone out of her ear, the food off her lap, control the brats in the back, and stop doing makeup on the road, they might not have to worry about getting in an accident. I could really rant here, but I won't. #@$%!

They are planning in mandating mods to SUVs, including pickups. This will be in order to make the vehicle more likely to protect the drunk SOB who ran into them and less likely to protect ma and the kids.

How about if we all just rolled around in giant styrofoam balls?

Dittos on the ugly comments, especially that Honder thing, whewwweee. What people will buy never ceases to amaze me. Almost seems like you could put Honda or Toyota on a dog turd and folks would line up to buy one :D

That new Durango may be ugly, but go drive one that has a Hemi in it... . you will be suprised. :D I actually like it, especially the side airbags all the way to the back. I have to buy a new truck for the wife here in the next few months and so far, in my book, the Durango is winning the battle. Of course the wife wants a Yukon Denali XL

Got that right!

Don't you boys read Car & Driver and Motor Trend, if you did you would know that if it ain't JAP---it ain't any good!!?! How could all those really smart 4th estaters be wrong---the generations following us are the biggest "sheep" in the world (well maybe not as bad as the French)... ... ... ... ... ... ... . R, J. B. ;)

P. S. Any one want to bet which "Jap" truck will be next "truck of the year"... ... ... ... ..... What no takers?!?!?:D

Truckin mag's " Joke of the year". . Opps,I mean "Truck of the Year" is the redesigned Phord F150. I still have not figured out what butt kisser made that decision as the new SRT-10 whipped is tail in all categories,go figure... ...

Then there is this little comment made from above... .

Of course the wife wants a Yukon Denali XL

Of course if she was my wife she would be schooled on how you park that junk waaaayyyyyyy down the street in front of the neighbors house. . LOL:D :D :D .

One thing I do remember reading along time ago about the suspension lowering mandated by the feds was this... .

"The ride heights of the current pickups and SUV's are way to high with the current trend of passenger cars becoming smaller. In order to prevent major injuries or more lawsuits they will be dropped in the years to come to prevent injuries in case of a rear end collision. "

I forget where I read that and will spool thru some of my mags from the past and see if I can locate that article again. It was very interesting reading and it seems like they were correct... . Andy
