It has nothing to do with where a serviceman is serving IMO it's the mindset of the people who are enlisting ON THEIR OWN FREE WILL.

Not all but a vast majority of young people have sensitivity issues. They run off to find a corner & hide when someone says something to offend their itty-bitty feelings.

Sure we had sissies that cried in basic but they were weeded out and sent packing.

Don't know if it still exists GOD I HOPE NOT but a friend of my son went to serve & when he came home from Army basic we talked. He told me that if the DI ragged to hard that it offended someone they had a "TIME OUT CARD"
I didn't believe it but looked it up on the Internet and it was true.

Fixing or figuring out why something doesn't work isn't a requirement anymore HELL I wonder if they have a 911 HOT LINE if the SHTF

YEAH TIMES HAVE CHANGED

:-laf My point was that he could get on a phone and call......... customer service.:-laf

Granted & with the technology we have today they might very well need to.

The part that's funny to me is when they say that it's good to call home from the Armpit they're in and talk to home. I once got to use a MARS Station link to get ahold of some radio operator in Minnesota he called home to California just so I could say "Hello Mom when your finished talking you need to say over" & then lost the link.
