I meant to post this sooner but I am in Toronto for work and have all day tomorrow free and leaving tomorrow evening. Wife and I have a car rented and planning to leave in the morning to go to Niagara Falls. Anyone have any suggestions on things to do while there or along the way? Thanks and the hospitality has been great.
Thanks,
Matt

Not sure what your interests are. There's "Rob Ford the Musical" or the CN Tower edge walk. Or maybe something milder. There's lots of museums, art galleries, and all kinds of restaurants in Toronto. As far as Niagara Falls goes, other than the obvious Falls, there's lot's of wineries between St. Catherines and Niagara Falls. Not sure if it's a good time of year for winery tours. How are you enjoying the traffic so far?: Gardiner expressway, QEW, 427, 401, York, Yonge, Bay?

Hopefully, some full fledged Torontians (sp?) will chime in. Oh I almost forgot, Robert's Gen 1 showroom is about 1-1/2 hours away from you, but I don't think it's open yet.

If you require any information or assistance please feel free to ask questions and post.

I was riding this morning but traffic was backed up bad this morning on 401 at 6:30. We avoided it but couldn't tell you the exact route. Shop I was going to was on Danville rd in Mississauga. We fly out of Toronto tomorrow evening so will most likely make a trip to the falls and be back early afternoon. Didn't see any brochures for Robert's museum in the hotel lobby....

Be sure you compare the falls with how they used to be. Even *I* can't recognize them from memory any more.

Sorry about the misinformation re Robert's showroom... I was being a smart...(you know what). He's a TDR member and you may have come across one of his posts.

If this is your first trip to the Falls, you could easily spend the whole day there and not have much time for anything else. It won't take too long to see both sides of the Falls, if that's the only reason you're visiting. However there's plenty of floral gardens, casino and shops galore, if you don't mind walking. There's tour buses available, but I've always walked.

If you're leaving from Mississauga, you're one hour away with no traffic. Friday traffic could be brutal, but you'll be travelling against the traffic flow. US bound traffic is normally heavy on Friday evenings and Toronto bound heavy on Sunday evenings and long weekends.

Unfortunately one day doesn't give you much time for exploring. If you have time you could check out Niagara on the Lake and surrounding area.

As far as car exhibits go(if you're interested) the closest one would be this one.

It's north west of Mississauga in the town of Milton. They used to have tours on weekends only(shop area), but they're showroom is always open during the week. I haven't been there in a while, so I would call ahead to check for their hours.

I hope you enjoy your stay and maybe your next visit will be longer.

Read many of Robert's posts, I was also being a smart, well you get the picture.
Drove out to the falls this morning, went up in the observation tower, took a boat ride, walked to both ends and ate lunch in the welcome center. It definitely gives you a different perspective from each view. Glad to have been able to see it from the Canadian side. We did not cross back into the US but looked like the view was much better where we were at. At the airport now, hospitality has been great here.
Thanks,
Matt

It seems that a lot of Robert's fellow members enjoy taking jabs at him. Good thing he's a very easy going guy and takes everything in stride.

It sounds like you had a full day at the Falls. Good to hear that the boat is still operating. I guess you rode on the "Maid of the Mist" and got to wear one of their yellow rain coats. There were rumors at one time that it was facing financial problems.

Glad to hear that you made it to the airport on time. QEW (Queen Elizabeth Way) could be very unpredictable and at times nerve wracking.

Safe travels.
