Howdy yall

I've been a 1st gen. feller for awhile but I'm looking into 2nd gens for the newer body style, nicer interior,NV4500 etc. I'm looking at a 2000 QC 2500,NV4500,silver exterior, gray interior, looks like its been took care of,no mods that I know of. What do I need to look for, problem areas etc on these trucks that are different from the 1st gens. If you can help me out at all that would be great. Thanks a lot guys

If you want a 24V, you should look for at least a 2001. 5 to get the 4 wheel disc brakes. Also get the NV5600 six speed. IMHO SNOKING

One of the main issues with the 2nd gen trucks is front end. I'd take a look at the track bar (have a second person move the steering wheel back/forth while you watch both ends of the bar if possible). Tire wear and tire mileage history may tell something if the previous owner is available.

Got access to a fuel pressure gauge? Maybe a local 2nd gen person has a gauge you can attach to the Schrader valve at the lower rear input to the VP44 to check lift pump pressure. Idle above 10 is my preference, although that will vary GREATLY between folks! Zero is bad.

Good Luck!
