Thunder in Muncie will stay in Muncie!!

To those who have been in the past and those planning on going this year, assuming I want to keep it relatively low key and pay the two day gate fee as well as enter the truck in the show-n-shine what should I plan for in terms of costs? Food obviously, what's lodging like out there? Does anybody know of pet (dog) friendly motels or campsites?

Thunder in Muncie is alot of fun. You could camp (tent) for like $10 a night at the Big Oak and I remeber people with dogs there last year. I have tented the last couple of years but I am staying at Lee's Inn this year witch is suposed to be booked already. So figure your fuel money needs plus $30 to$50 if you tent camped depending on how many nights, food is up to you how much you want to spend, but MAKE SURE you bring a little extra $ for a deal on a add on if you are lookin at anything.

See ya there

Craig

Great time last year. This year I'm thinking about taking the slide in camper only instead of the the trailer park I'm thinking about just parking in the street or one of the hotel lots. Sounds like the local law enforcement would not care and I will be close to the kickoff bash if I decide to drink instead of drive.

The camper also gets me a nice shelter at the pulls or drags if it rains or it just gets too hot.

Anyone think that will be a problem?

I don't think it will be a problem...

Perhaps Eric McBride could shed some light on this.

I'd say that you'd probably be okay - so long as you don't fire up your 15kW, 2-stroke Detroit Diesel powered gen-set at 4AM. :D

Matt

You know I just can't find my 15kW, 2-stroke Detroit Diesel powered gen-set.

Last year I was at a campground and it sounded to me like most of the fun was in town. Sounds like even more planned in town this year.

SMorneau, I plan to do the same thing. This will be my first year and hopefully I can find a spot close to the action to park my truck and slide-in. Is parking tight around the hotels?

Blue-Beast: I'm leaving for TiM on the 3rd and returning home to cheeseland on the 7th of June.

Lee's Inn in Muncie (where a lot of people are staying... ) is supposedly full... . I bet the campgrounds are getting full as well.

Matt

Is there much parking at the event itself? I have a friend that lives in Muncie and I will stay with him but plan on coming over everyday and participating in Pulls, Dynos and maybe the Drag Racing. How much will it be to get in each day or do we just pay once? Thanks for info this is my first time coming so I am looking forward to it! :D Oo.
