The weather is finally getting nice and I'm starting to think about adding some HP to my 01 5speed 4x4. :D Currently I have an Amsoil air intake and a Max Micro Chips Programmer. (gives about 70 hp) At this point I think I would like to add either injectors or change injector nozzles. I think about 100hp would be great, can anybody give me advice on how to get that? DPPI offers Edge injectors, I was thinking Stage 3 or 4. Or maybe entire injectors?

Thanks for you help!

For a 24v truck there is only one name to say in the injector,Formula 1 Diesel's Mach Series. Anything else is second best and it has been proven time and time again on many dyno's.

Another very good choice are the ones that SDX sell. They were schooled by Weston Shupe on how to build his injectors and do most all of Weston's work, except for one off custom sets. Great shop run by a great bunch of people and you will not go wrong with them either.

Hope that helps you out some... Andy

Andy, thanks for the info.
I was also looking at nozzles but I'm not sure how those compare with entire injectors. The only thing I can see is that they'll offer the same HP increase much cheaper. I know the old adage "you get what you pay for" but there is a significant amount of difference between Mach 2 giving 105 hp and stage 4 nozzles that give 125 hp.
Can anybody tell me about nozzles compared to injectors? Thanks again.

Here is the link to nozzles:

Switching nozzles would mean setting pop pressures to be in spec and balanced between all injectors. A pop tester isn't real expensive, but in the end there's more than pop pressures to be concerned with when it comes to ensuring a quality set of matched injectors such as flow rate & amount of bleeddown. So in the end it would be better to buy a set of injectors vs swapping out your own tips, especially if you have over 100k miles on your truck.

Another quality injector is produced by Dynomite Diesel, satisfaction is high with their injectors and they have invested a lot into equipmentment to do their own in-house.

Nozzles are cheap horsepower, that is a fact. In 2005 I put in Edge Jammer 4's(125hp). I had a set of core bodies pop tested, and installed the nozzles in them. They have worked fine for close to 100K miles with multiple sled pulls and many drag races on them. That being said, I would love to try some Mach 4's (150hp) as I have heard they are way nicer mannered, and generally offer better fuel mileage as well. Have also heard they will light a turbo way quicker. Anyone have experience with both?

Not trying to highjack, but am also interested in the difference between Mach and nozzles.

I've run both 1. 5's & 3. 8's from Formula 1. Both have been wonderful giving essentially the same mileage which was an improvement from stock.
