Woke up this morning and wanted an EZ... bad. Doing some reading today, and I've heard some talk of the EZ making the Cummins louder. If so, how much louder is it? I would prefer the EZ over VA just because of the boost module. Any help would be much appreciated!

I put the EZ Edge on my truck and it did not get louder, unless you consider that I now tend to Floor It :D more often so the engine is allways reving so I guess that would make it louder:D John

I have tried both boxes and neither increase sound levels.

However, after installation of an EZ or VA, the Evolution of BOMBing may have you waking up and wanting a 4" Exhaust. Now that will make the Cummins louder:D

Both will increase performance roughly the same power. I believe the latest and greatest VA incorporates a boost module.

I was at that same point once...

Before you decide to get an EZ, think if you are going to want to BOMB later, and get a "major" fueling box. If you are, then you at that point i was at when I met Stefan K. of DTT. He convinced me NOT to spend around $500 for an EZ at the time, then a year later spend another $600 for the major box. I ended up buying an EDGE COMP box from him and NOT CONNECTING THE FUEL PUMP WIRE. Five months later, I STILL have not connected the wire, and cranked out 236 horsepower on the dyno, 195 with out. Also it added just over 120 ft-lbs. I am very happy with this savings that I got by skipping the EZ.

Just more food for thought,

Andrew

P. S. You must have some strong will power to not hook that "little bitty wire" up, trust me. Plus depending on how long you keep it unhooked you might earn the nickname "loose wire"

Thanks for all the replies! Well, thanks to the Texan, I'm considering the comp :D But, don't think I can keep from doing the wire, so I best not. Now, what I didn't mention is that I WILL NOT be towing anything significant, only a couple of jet-skis. Should I consider DDII's? Found a heck of a deal on 'em. Which would y'all suggest? Thanks again for all the help!

Once you go down that path, there is no turning back. The power of the dark side is greater than any man can ever understand. Come back you will not. Run you must!! WARNED YOU HAVE BEEN!!!!

Go with the comp. I have the EZ now, tant enough want more:D

and I know where you saw the great deal on DDIIs. I ordered a set myself, Piers is the man.

I tow 10k lbs on weekend s during the summer and have DD2's. EGT's no problemo... ... ... ... ... get'em you'll love them.

Same thoughts

I have been trying to also decide which Edge box to buy. I am leaning to the Comp. How did the installation go ?. I would do it myself if not to bad a project.

Don't forget your transmission.....

EZ, Comp with or without the wire and DD2's better start looking for a good deal on a new transmission, OR, better yet call Stefan for DDT TC and VB.
