I want to convert my '01 to a dually . .

can't find rims anywhere to save my life ...

if i don't have any success i've been considering buying the american eagle alloy duallys as seen on ebay ...

1) anyone use these and have any pro's or cons

2) the cost is the same so i'll run the 17's, i'd rather have the extra inch of rim as opposed to rubber sidewall ...

3) i need to buy the wheel spacer for the front ... can i just go with the '01 and use the 17 inch "03-06" rims

any advice would be appreciated ...

oh ... if anyone knows where i can get a complete set of '01 and up set of rims, hubcaps ... etc, i'm in the market

thanks

I have had good luck with www.southwestwheel.com I got my rims for my dually there. I had to get a miss matched set (94-2001 Dodge for the front) and 2001-2006 GM dually rims for the rear. They were great help. They sell Alcoa's (very comparable to the price of the eagles or AR's and way better quallity) and they also sell steel rims for any dually truck (my inside rear rims are steel on my truck)

Good luck... Ryan

thanks for the reply ...

just looked at the site, those alcoas look sweet but cost double what the american eagles on ebay are ...

600 vs 1300

that's why i looking for anyone who may have ordered some ...

they look too good to be true

didn't realize you were seeing them so cheap! up here in Canada the American Eagles are actually more than what I paid for my Alcoa's from Southwest Wheel after converting the $$$ and the shipping!

Makes me wonder if these might be blems of some sort. Best bet like you say would be to find someone that has got them already!

I gots the Eagles..... some people got all over me on on another website cuz they can only hold 2750 lbs a piece :-{} ... well I left my steelies on the inside and I aint carrying much in my bed as I have a tonneau cover... ... so to all the ney sayers out there... . jump in the creek... ... check out my pics... . I think they look great... but again... to each his /her own!!! :D

they came as a complete set when i bought them... nuts are flat (non acorn type... )... i had them line up the valve stems (inner and out wheel) so i can air them up with out extensions... i do use a Blue point (Snap-On) truck inflater as it has two angles ... I roll the truck to where I can get my fat ***** behind the wheels to check/inflate them..... one caveat on the 17 inchers tho... . there are limited amount of tires avail (more coming soon) in that size... . I went with a Firestone Transforce highway tread (E rated) for the front and a Transforce Mud (E rated) and snow for the rears... i dont rotate my tires... I only flip the fronts (right to left and flip on the rim to keep the same rotation of the tire which is important) and adjust air around to maintain good wear... . DONT GET THE BADYEAR GSA... they are HEavy and JUNK... had to replace them at 25k due to sidewall cracking... . the Firestones are very smooth..... made a HUGE difference going over rail road tracks and bumpy roads... . just got back from Oklahoma and had a nice smooth ride for the most part.....

on edit... the caps DO NOT cover the lugs so you should run new flat type lugs... i believe the stockers are acorn... i might be wrong tho... .
