A neighbor has a brother about a hundred miles from here who is planning to replace his 2005 2500 factory aluminum wheels with some aftermarket wheels. I might have a chance to get these wheels at a good price. These are the 17" wheels.

Without any way to check the backspacing and other measurements I don't know if I can use them on my 1992 D250 without some interference problems. Has anyone had any experience in this swap? I know the bolt pattern is the same, but there is no convenient way for me to measure both sets and compare for offset.

If anyone has any info please let me know.

THANKS!

I have a 2002 that I put a set of 2006 stock aluminum 17" wheels on. No problem whatsoever.

There were several threads about this over the last month.

They have to much BS and will be sucked way into the fenderwells or possibly even rub the leaf springs when turning.

They work best on 2000 and up Rams, since that is when they widened the suspension. They're a bit sucked-in looking on my '98 4x2.

And the axles in your 98 are a few inches wider than the axles in a 1st gen even.

wheels

Call bif at offroadoverstock.com He has wheel spacers that bolt on to our 1/2 inch studs. They are 2 inches wide and have 9/16 studs.

I have them on my 89, I bought new wheels for my 06 and they looked to good to not use. Good luck

A big "THANKS" to everyone who replied to this question. Just another sign of the very helpful group here on the TDR.

I have decided to buy a set of proper offset wheels for my 1992. I really prefer the old school look of wheels with a more centered hub.

The guy who had these wheels has since sold them to a co-worker so everyone ends up happy.

Again, THANKS!
