Those guys love there Dura Maxes. I killed one on I-95 a few nights ago. They think 2 extra cylinders means everything.

CUMINNTSTRKN and DavidTD, my compliments for adding some sense of calm to a near frenzied site about V-8s. I guess that maybe now our diesel brethren over there are beginning to understand some of the real issues of getting horsepower to the ground. For instance, the computer defuels in first gear on the Allison to protect the transmission (that's their comment, not mine). Dodge doesn't do that to my knowledge. So maybe that's why some of the Rams had transmission problems. And I can imagine that "wife" saying "How's your transmission" to every Dodge owner she meets. Oh yeah, that would be funny forever if I lived with her. One thing about my wife, she don't slam ANYBODY's truck. If she did, it would probably be "How's your ticking?" See what I mean. That would be real funny to a DMAX owner every time he/she heard it.

Here's another that's even MORE interesting:

I frequently visit Ford and GM diesel sites to keep up with the latest happenings. Let's face it, we ALL love our trucks, no matter WHAT brand we currently own - for a long time, the Ford guys were hard to deal with as THEY thought and brayed about their "unbeatable" Powerstrokes, and how "unbreakable" they were... But then they got a few miles on them, and discovered that yes, they ARE good trucks, but NOT perfect - they have chronic problems and failures of their own, just as WE do! Lately, the Ford folks have become genuinely human and easy to get along with!

Now we are faced with the same line of crap, and denial, from the GM bunch - who swallowed the crap put out in advertising from GM and the slanted BS the truck mags print as they attempt to entice more advertising dollars from whichever truck manufacturer has just hit the market with something new...

You'll notice that FREQUENTLY GM board members will take deliberate abusive (and uncalled for!) potshots at Dodge trucks and their owners - without so much as a raised eyebrow or slap on the wrist from the moderators as to "abusive flaming" - BUT, speaking from direct experience, if one of US pop in there to set the record straight or offer counterpoint or clarification, WE will be shown the door PRONTO!

BUT, lo and behold, in SPITE of the strict censorship and personal attacks constantly displayed over in the GM group at ANY who dare criticise the Duramax, inevitably, the TRUTH comes out, and we now see that as expected, the latest from GM has its OWN share of problems and weaknesses. And yes, they probably WILL be corrected in later year models, BUT, Ford and DC won't be stupidly sitting still waiting for that to happen, and will be making their OWN improvements as well. The race goes on...

HEY GM dudes - welcome to the REAL world!;) :p :D
