Saturday, the 24th, my son called me while my wife and I were camping and said he thought his engine was blown. I told him to check his flexplate and sure enough, it was bad. Even had nice little pieces fall out when the cover was removed.

So, feeling sorry for him we let him use our spare Jeep to drive while he fixed it.

As a side note; the dealer wanted $278 and Kenworth (116th street, Marysville) wanted $107.

On monday morning on my way home from work MY truck started making strange hollow clunking sounds. By the time I got home it was downright scrarry. I mean, it was some REALLY LOUD grinding, clunking, rattling sounds. I crawled under it to locate the sourse and it was so loud near the bellhousing it hurt my ears.

Since I don't have the time to do a swap I sent it down to Jamies transmission in Snohomish. He and I have swaped work for some years and I trust his work plus I trust him to keep my truck safe.

So now I will be without my truck for a couple days--MAJOR BUMMER!!

I normally wouldn't make a post about this kind of thing except for the fact that Levi's flexplate and mine both went out at almost the same time. Wierd.

Oh, and yes, I will be putting in the upgraded 2nd gen flexplate
