You may just be the only remaining Cadillac driver on the planet that can diagnose and fix their own car.

There are a few of us. One notable example in Boston took two DTS Caddy’s, one daily driver and a slightly damaged DTS Platinum. Switched all the Platinum goodies over to the daily, put the take off parts back on the donor. Fixed it and sold it. You can’t tell what he did, the conversion is flawless...

Judging from that metal tube and flange, it probably bolts on right at a cat inlet. It’s probably up in the subframe by the rack.

You should find someone with a tech II and command it on, it could be a fuse or relay too. The older Taurus had em on the subframe up ahead of the transmission, and they would drink puddle water and freeze/ crack.

Tube goes to rear exhaust manifold. Changes from topside, just need a mirror and a telescopic magnet to bring the flange nuts up with.
Check valve has to come off to change plugs so I had it all off about 25,000 miles ago. Some people just unhook the brackets and twist it back during a plug change but that’s just asking to crack that flex tube. Removal of all is a lot better idea...

.2 book time + drill and tap when the studs let go from corrosion.

That can be the case but with both of mine that area does not seem to corrode.

Even though the connection is on the rear exhaust the nuts always start and the gasket will lift right off.
I don’t think the weasel snot gets up in there where it’s so close to the firewall.

The clear and present danger is dropping a nut down in there and having to fish it out with a combination of mirrors, magnets, blind luck...and most importantly...loads of profanity!!

Always perform that kind of stuff on my cement garage floor so if the nut does rattle it’s way to the floor I have a much better chance of finding it. The wife’s crushed rock in the driveway is wonderful stuff but will easily camouflage a 1” nut...:D
