Truck stolen by employee

Case 455 C

Just got my issue yesterday and after reading it, I noticed an interesting remark made in the article about this years dieselpower challenge. It states that alot of trucks were passed over because they were manual sledpullers and might not compete well in the tow test and the drag race. While I understand some of the thinking behind that, if they wanted more all around trucks than event specific trucks, why is one of the vehicles chosen a Mercedes sedan? I'm pretty sure it can't tow or sledpull, and probably finish really low in the drag race and almost definitely last in the dyno competition. Also, there is one guy chosen with two trucks! Not much of a competition if you bring two different vehicles. Now don't think I'm just sore cause my truck wasn't picked, cause I'm not(just bummed). I just think their method of choosing trucks, however it may be, is slightly flawed. But at least the Cummins have everyone else out numbered... :-laf

I think its a bunch of BS my self. Diesel World is starting to look like a better mag to me. If they feel that way about manuals then maybe they should have a manual challenge and a auto challenge.

I agree with you, let the manuals run; ain't nothin wrong with them. As for the Mercedes, thats the dumbest thing Ive seen in awhile;unless Im missin something... it doesnt belong there. Thats like Four Wheeler having a Formula 1 car at their Top Truck Challenge

:-lafThat is exactly my thoughts, I think its their way of supporting equal opportunity, kinda like a vehicular version of affirmative action. :-laf

The article was worded oddly, after reading it several times it appears that only 17 are chosen, 5 fords, 5 chevys and 5 dodges, plus the 2 winners from last year. Thing is, they have 36 entries in the mag... . that can't be all of them, can it? I know most are the more modified trucks, did they weed out the ones that they didn't think would compete? Or maybe the ones without Banks stickers?:-laf Just kiddin', most ones don't have any Banks gear on them. Just curious what kind of process they used to choose the 36 in the mag, mine wasn't chosen and it is equal to, or more modified than some, though not as much as others, kinda middle of the pack. Maybe they chose by the most aesthetically appealing?

I also am not impressed. They have misquoted Bill Fletcher in both articles and I have seen this before many of times. They said it was II's injection pump on Bill's white truck, when it should have said "PDR's race pump". This isn't the 1st time someone else got credit for our stupid pump when they shouldn't have.

I called David Kennedy at Diesel Power and left a message with no returned call in over a week.

Yeah.....

I have sent a couple of "oops -o- grams" to them. They published one, it was about the Holset VG turbo on the 07's. The other was about the Hp claims of some of the "Hp Build-up Formula's" article that were clearly bogus. Both trucks were the 24v 98. 5 to 02 versions. One guy said 500 Hp (or something close). He was running with 100 Hp injectors, a Hx35, no electronics and maybe methanol. Another guy was running a "Comp" type electronic box, Mach7's, twins, nitrous and and I believe methanol. His truck was only only listed at 488 Hp.

It made me wonder how many of the other trucks they had gotten wrong. Not sure they really know much specifics on allot of trucks.

I subscribe to Diesel world because I seem to like it better the Diesel power. I think the articles are better and their feature trucks seem more down to earth. (Im a little partial to the because they did a 4 page article on my Dakota too)

Yep, Diesel World is getting the thumbs up by many people.

Industrial gets the credit for the work on Bill's truck cause he runs there injectors, then ATS gets the credit for the White CR in last months issue when everything on that truck came out of I. I. shop... ... ... . something fishy is going on here.

I talked to them directly about doing an article on my truck at the Power Challange in Salt Lake and got the cold sholder treatment. Guess I don't have enough Money for them..... *** jacks!

In the Jan 07 issue, NONE of the Weekend On The Edge class winners were correct. I e-mailed them the correct winners and heard nothing back.
