Giant Diesel Equipment? Post 'em if ya got 'em pics

Why/How is the Cummins in our trucks so "underworked"?

those of you who haul RV's and trailers and such I know are protective of what you do because of different reasons, mosty so you dont run out of work... which I respect. I would too. . but I am thinking real hard about getting into such a thing. And am hoping my fellow cummins brothers will help out me out in finding some companys to call. ..... anyone? after two bounced payroll checks I am thinking seriously of changing occupations.

any help would be appreciated.

Do you have to have a CDL to do this kind of work, or just appropriate insurance?

Also, what kind of pay does one typically make in this line of work?

You will have to have a CDL anytime you are crossing state lines for commercial purposes such as this. I'm sure you will also get to fill out a log book and all that fun stuff as well. I'm thinking you could probably get away with a Class B or C, but if it were me I'd go ahead and go for a Class A that way you can haul anything you want. Just my $0. 02.

Pay is a good question and since I don't haul for a living (right now) I can't tell you exactly. My neighbor is a driver for FedEx and he makes about $0. 38 a mile. I think I heard a while back that O/O and Hot Shots were getting more, upwards of $0. 60 to $0. 75 a mile. When I haul livestock I charge anywhere form $1. 50 to $2. 00 a mile if that helps any.
