As Daniel put it... so eloquently I might add!

Well, yesterday I was bumping my timing and replacing my supply line and, low and behold, I broke the air line to the AFC housing!

BE CAREFULL! I just barely turned the little bolt out to remove it so I could get the the full fuel screw (not that I would EVER do ANYTHING with that screw... :D ).

So I've got the g/f ordering the part for me today while I'm at work... probably two if they're not too expensive.

Just a heads up. But of course, I am Mr Murphy, so I probably have about 5000% greater chance of breaking it than anyone else...

Besides Daniel, of course...

I hope she's getting them from Cummins and not DC; $25 vs $55. I'd only get one.

I guess I could post pics of the redneckengineering job I did on Mom's truck, though it requires some teflon tape and some COORDINATION ;) :D

Daniel

Hey CB I got mine from DC before I found out about this site, but they must have gotten a little smarter it is not a solid line it is made out of rubber? Its alot better than the old one. I dont think you will need two of them. Just my 2 cents.

Stomp

I dunno, Stomp. He got barred from the bowling alley for cracking a bowling ball; he may need two of 'em. :-laf :-laf :-laf

Now why the heck couldnt they have made the dang things rubber from the get-go? I'm still working on a way to make them for less than $25... ... .

dpucket

Yeah I don't know what they were thinking when they made them to begin with. All I know is that it is a whole lot better now that they are made out of rubber. Dam engineers and there bright ideas.

Hey if you ever do get a chance to make them for $25 maybe I should get an extra one. I have been known to be hard on things, but breaking a bowling ball??????????:-laf :-laf

[I have been known to be hard on things, but breaking a bowling ball??????????:-laf :- Thats the truth!:D

Rubber??? Hmmm... that would be far superior.

Believe it or not, I have it sealed with gasket shelac, teflon tape, and some other pipe sealing tape for now...

And yeah, she's getting it from Cummins NW.

yeah i replaced my metalair line with a banjo barb fitting on both ends and some silcone rubber tubing. it works sweet, it bends out of the way. even can take off the afc top with it attached etc...

later

Deo

I remember seeing Deo's setup and I think it's the way I'd go if mine breaks.

Don't see why that won't work as well as long as the tubing is heavy enough so it doesn't flex too much. . after all we're only talking about a "few" psi... .
