With the Edge, do you still have the turbo lag from a dead stop, I assume it's better than stock but does it still take a sec or so to get rolling? Just wondering how much better it is from a take off perspective.

Yes, you still have the turbo lag, however, you still have power with the low boost fueling adjustment. You'll just have extra smoke. I personally don't care about extra smoke because I'm not behind it.

I don't know, #1-#3 Feel sort of like stock off a roll, but you deffinately know somethings different once the boost comes on. #4 & #5 I don't get much lag at all, it's all business from there.

I think the Edge software is deffinately worth the money.

I am not sure that I agree with slow launch being caused by turbo lag. My tires will spin from a dead stop with out a box. Very quick spool-up at pretty much any road speed. The 3rd gens do not have the torque of a modified 12 valve. Nor does it have the smoke. I am running 315 tires but I have 4. 10 gears. I am curious what kind of shape your transmissions are in and how much loss you are getting from them. I know how bad a stock trans works on level 5,but see all kinds of people running on 5 with stock autos and not mentioning the poor shift qualities????Do I have a super stock turbo or just a nice unabused trans?

I only have 6,000 miles on my 06 with 48re and 4. 10's and 265's. If I step on the brakes and step on the gas it will light the tires up no problem, I just don't like taking off from a dead stop with the lag, be it turbo lag, or timing retarding etc. .

Bob I think it's all in how you use the box. I run 5x5 nearly 80% of the time. When you just drive it normal and stay out of the boost 5x5 is just like stock, yet there is no lag at all, the truck always fees strong. I like that feeling and it has no effect on the trans, I have driven wot in 5x5 more than once or even twice, my transmission shifts just as smooth as the day I got the truck. But I also don't care if my trans goes either, as I am wanting to upgrade to a fully built ATS, if it went out tomorrow, so be it. I got an excuse to shell out some coin on an aftermarket Trans, if it goes three years from now. same thing.

Steve,

with my 6 speed i can get the truck rolling a bit easier fi i blip the throttle a tad then start letting the clutch out and getting on it. i can roll the tires as long as i like in 2nd or 3rd from a stop or i can chirp them 1st through 3rd. its less lag and i think it might be more emissions than turbo. my truck is stock though. i do plan on a crank sensor here soon as my factory one is going out. ill have them replace it then get a roktek in and see if that helps a bit.

A couple of things I have noticed with Ghost Rider and the Hot Juice. First, if you roll on the throttle rather than mattin it to the floor, the Cummins will respond alot better and you will not notice the turbo lags anywhere near as much.

The other thing is to do either the Tone Ring Mod or install the RokkTech Crank Sensor. I have done both, and it is extremely fun to drive in town! Low end power is much better. I have back off the RokkTech Crank Sensor a little in hope to inprove the mileage. With both mods, I did not notice any improvements in mileage. But it is a lot of fun to drive! I haven't noticed any "Pinging" from being too far advanced.

My 03 has a Juice/Attitude 48re (Brand new) old one died, still slips in 3 or above, up to 25% if I let it. I like the Edge but my 98 12v with the TST #10 seemed alot better. The 24v doesn't seem to have much low end grunt.

The 06 will retard the fuel timing 4 degrees on full pedal, the 05 is probably similiar but is not readable with the scanners I have access to.

I wonder if the 04. 5 do this also? I too have noticed less lag if you roll into vs matting it.

A little different tac on this Edge theme... . a WEIRD NOISE

05, automatic. I installed the Attitude with the EGT sensor as soon as I installed the sensor I noticed a strage pinging or rattle during acceleration. about 2-8%throttle position it sounds like piston rattle. under load it all changes and sounds great it's just when the motor is NOT laboring. freeway driving once you reach cruising speed it starts the noise and continues the whole ride. I had a 2nd Gen (2001) and it was did not have the same no load noise. PLEASE HELP

I am a newby so if this is out of line please let me know and I will correct my post.

You might want to fill in your signature and tell us about your truck, along with mods already installed. That will give us something to work with.
