I've got a set of the Lightforce 170's. I'm going to mount them on my bull bar and they should be almost/close to the height of the stock headlights. I want to run these things INSTEAD of the stock headlights. I know they'll be blinding... but my eyesight at night is not what it once was... . So I was wondering if I could replace the bulbs with a lower wattage and get by. What I want is better lighting, but I don't want to blind everyone on the road... Lightforce comes stock with 100w, but they also sell 75w, 50w and 25w bulbs. Anyone try this? Any suggestions?

I mounted mine on my Randy Ellis bar, put the switch in the door with the power windows. I dont use the high beams any more just the Liteforces.

I have had mine for 4 or 5 years now and they are the best lights I have run in 30 years. They still have the original bulbs and lenses with 190k on them. I think I got mine at offroad warehouse or central 4x4 cant remember now. Got on sale and shipped for 186 a pair for the 170's. Should have bought two sets looks like they are quite a bit more now.

The light force lights are awsome I run with the 140's. I wish now that I had spent my money on them years ago instead of all the other brands that I have tried and worked with. Once my aftermarker bumper / brush guard arrives for my new 06 from Craig's bumpers in Craig Co. they will be installed and sistered up two more for a total of 4 lamps. Two clear and two with the wide angle yellow flood lenses. I dont think any thing can beat this product line. As for using them as a replacement for your high beam head lamps I would check with your local Highway patrol and inquire if there are any laws in your state that forbid the use of "OFF ROAD " lights ( as this is what they are) . If my memory serves me correctly such states like California any off road lights must be covered accept when being used in off road environments. However Amassaro, some extra light on the highway at night is great as I do the same thing, but only as a suplement to my stock headlights. Also I have the switch located in a console that is immediately accesable so that they can be stitchod off as soon as I see an oncoming vehicle so as not to blind the other driver. None the less good luck with the install of your new lights.
