How to haul a moose with a Lumina

I understand that those silly spinner wheels cost cost well over a thou$and buck$ a set.

I just saw a set on an older 4 door Exploder. Going down the freeway at 65+ the RF 'spinner' was more or less not moving 'round and 'round, just floppin' in the wind. It looked like hammered crap. I wanted to roll down my window and point out "Yer wheel's coming apart!", but I didn't have the heart.

I've seen some of those wheels that were striking to look at, yet I can't see spending that kind of money on something that does not improve performance in some way, such as getting alloy wheels.

I've seen many folks here that have these wheels on them and I'd bet you $$ the wheels are worth WAY more than the car.

What I am seeing... I remember 10-15 years ago it seemed the trend was to lower the cars and put those tiny 13" rims on them. Now it seems lifting the cars is getting to be the 'thing' and put the huge 22" or bigger 'dubs" on them. I saw a caddy yesterday I swear it had a good 10" of ground clearance at it;s lowest point!

I actually saw a set on the drive rims of a over the road truck. BIG cross on the hub, very HD Looking, spinning away.....

Every one has some gimmick that they get off on. If that's what foats their boat, good for them. As far as I'm concerned, I think that it's a waste of money and wouldn't use them even if I got them for free!

I did too! I went to the Cummins Rocky Mtn. Truck Fest in July and saw two trucks with those. They raced down the 1/4 mile with the wheels a' spinnin'!

I want to know what happens when the bearings freeze up and one of those things comes lying off at 80 MPH...
... . or when a dog walks up to a vehicle that's just stopped, hikes his leg to relieve himself and loses his, ummmm, member to the spinning blades. Hey, the SPCA and PETA should be all over this issue!!! :-{} :-{} :-laf

I know a fellow with an Escalade and a $7,000 set of 30 inch spinner wheels. Pimp mobile. He has about $30k in his stereo in the Escalade too!

I can understand spending serious $ for a stereo - though $30k is kinda out of my budget - but those spinner wheels are nonsense. Though, they do seem to serve the same purpose as coffee-can exhausts and chain-link license plate frames - they act as a "Be Careful - Moron Driving!" warning sign. No offense to any morons in here! :D

They are also a big distraction... if they catch someone's eye then they;re not loking at the road... not that everyone on the road is a good drvier... most suck. But I can see them causing accidents.

Heard the counter rotating centrifical force is worth an extra 15 MPG and will indefinately balance your wheels IF you remove all existing wheel weights, can't wait till they make extenders for Duallys for optimum performance. Just heard they will soon offer them in a steath paint finish which will stop both laser and radar speed detection. Gee ain't marketing of technology wonderful. Oo. Oo. Oo.

Is anyone willing to organize a group buy on this technology for TDR members?

I hope he never goes to Little Rock (or is well armed when he does). He will get carjacked for sure in that blingmobile. There was a hispanic dude in Houston that was killed during a carjacking of his POS '84 Oldsmobubble, because he had a set of $3,000. 00 spinnaz on it.

Also called "dubs" the wheels that have the center section that stays stationary when your start to move, and then keep spinning when you stop driving. It's a "bling" item. Some people like them, some don't. I, for one, like the ones that are now avail. for OTR trucks, the ones for cars are just stupid...
