Just curious what kind of filters you are all running because my Afe is about to completely collaps and looking for it's replacement. Thanks Mike

Most use a 5x12 AFE if you have a kit that let you keep the battery. I ran a 5x18 on my old twins with the battery out and when mine started giving me turbo trouble I went to a 6x24... ... yes it's huge and hard to install.

I feel your pain. Mine is doing the same thing

My stock AFE filter (4" inlet) is hating life so I made a pipe to try the Stage II "race" filter (6" inlet). I'm waiting on the powder coater to get the pipe back.

it was 48 dollars for the afe replacement for the piers twins, and the million mile afe filter is done for in my area at 6 months old, and only cleaned 4 times, it was flat, missing filter media and i know it wasnt plugged, because you can see plenty of daylight through it..... , i have been putting, panty hose over my new one and oiling them also with pretty good luck, take them off and the filter is still pretty clean, not sure how much air it restricts, but i dont see a difference in boost, egt, or power, cheap insurance against dirt entry and wearing the upper cylinder compression rings prematurely..... if you find something better let us know...

That fine white desert dirt is killer on air filters. A pre filter is a must.

Anyone ever use a UNI Filter pn#UAP-908, I wonder how well it would flow air and filter compared to the Afe, K&N ect. I also wonder how durable it would be on a fairly high hp diesel.

BHAF's are great filters but I'm not sure about flow numbers. I wanted to try one with my twins but I didn't have a chance of getting it to fit in there without cutting a hole in the hood or fender.

I'm also having this filter problem and wanted to try a BHAF but there is no way it will fit without an extension on the existing pipe. It seems like a good number of the twinned 3rd gens are having this problem. Possibly rigging up a two-filter system would work. It would be great to have a few more options.

So what would you experienced twin turbo people recommend for an air filter for the people that are in the market for twins?

If you're going to buy a set of twins they should come with an air filter.
