Threads with multiple pages question

Why is it that when we use the "view new post" link, the threads with mutiple pages don't show up with the options of going to a specific page like they do when you browse individual forums?



I like to use the "view new post" thing but I wish I could go right to the last page of a thread I've been following. Would it be possible?

Click on that funny little symbol thingy at the extreme right side of the topic list, and you will be taken straight to the last post in the thread no matter how many pages long the thread is...

You can click on the arrow next to the topic, and it will take you to the first new post in the thread so you can pick up where you left off.

OR you can click show printable version under the red bar after the bottom post on a page. When the new page comes up click show all posts on one page at the top right. Great for looking for one post in a several page thread without flipping around or reading a several page thread for the first time.
