Throttle cable

Ordered a hand throttle cable for a fast idle from Chrysler. The list price was $302 and a net of $241. 60 !! Is this right? The cable is all of 2' with a T-handle that you can twist and lock. Could anyone who has replaced such a cable in the past and remembers the price(app. ) and might still have a part # either post or e-mail me. I special ordered this thing without checking the price before-hand and am now stuck with a very expensive cable. I never ever suspected this price. The part # 4405076. I feel obligated on this and even the dealer was shocked. They double checked and the numbers still come up the same.

that unreal. . i got one at a small eng. place here in mass for $20 it was 5 ft long cut it put it in and it's good to go...

Does anyone know how to get thru to Chrysler higher-ups? The 800 # just leads to alot of other choices, none of which do any good. This price has got to be a mistake somewhere in the computer and needs human attention. I am really steamed over this!! I've only myself to blame which makes it worse.

If you care to do it your self you can use a friction type gear changer from a old 10 speed bicycle. You can still get them new from most bicycle shops for around $10. A lot of the 4-wheelers use this set up on their gas motors and attach the gear changer/manual throttle near the top of the shifter.
