throttle control on 6.7

2007 Chassis cab 6. 7,surges and accelerates and decelerates ramdomly when throttle pedal depressed. Lightening bolt icon on instrument panel is flashing,check engine light is on.

I recently had the vehicle at a local dealer for the same problem. Got charged $500+ for a new throttle pedal.

Any ideas what to look for?

You'll need to find a dealer with a trained Cummins tech who can read the codes and diagnose the codes, if any, in a Dodge computer.

You can turn the key off-on-off-on-off-on, without starting, all with 5 seconds and it will read out the codes on the odometer. Once you know what the codes are, you can look them up on this site. That should give you some idea what the computer thinks the problem is.
