Crew Cab Has New Home

egt probe location?

I am gathering parts to do a double swap. I am going to swap an early 91 CTD into my 1983 Crewcab, while swapping a P-7100 pump, late model head, Piers cam,370's #4 plate, 3Kgov, Hybrid Turbo and an ATS manifold onto the motor. Has anyone here swapped a P-pump motor into a first gen with an auto (47RH) trans? What did you do for the throttle cable? The "Kickdown" cable is simple enough, but I havent been able to see what the P-pump cable looked like, I do have the 91 CTD cable. will it work? thanks in advance!! Murfman
 
I don't have an auto, but........

I used a new first gen throttle cable on my 98 motor, kinda. I had to make a plate to move it back towards the firewall @ 1", and then shorten the linkage between the throttle 'cam' and pump the same amount. It would have worked out perfect if the original cable had been about an inch or two longer.

Don't know if this was much help, but was probably a little better than nothing... ... ;)

We just finished putting the '96 12V in our '90. We used a throttle cable and brackets, etc. from a Freightliner FL70. We don't have cruise control so I can't help you there. Also it's a five speed trans.
