Disclaimer: I have done what research I could on the site, but the answers are far outdated. I have been told that Dodge no longer makes or has available what I need.

Throttle linkage for my 94 2500 diesel. There is a small approximately 1/2 inch what I will call compression ring on the inside of the female ball receptacle. It has disintegrated. The ironic thing is if it was available, it would cost no more than a couple of dollars I suspect. It should be a standard ring from SOME supplier, but who knows?

Any help deeply appreciated.

There was a recall on those. I got my '98 fixed about a year ago at no cost. Check with a decent dealer.

It’s been a comedy of errors, but I got the linkage yesterday and put it on. I should have gone directly to TDR for help!

I called the shop that did the 500 hp build and the owner said he probably had the part somewhere, but gave me the part number and said the local dealer could get it.
I called the local Dodge dealer and he ordered the part on a Wednesday. It cost an extra $19 to have it delivered by that Friday.
I went down Friday with the old part so I would be sure the correct part was sent. It was not (surprised)?
The parts man, after seeing my part, said: We stock these!
Got it and put it on. They refunded the $19 charge. Cost for the OEM part was $66.

There are some lessons here for all.

Thanks to GAmes and others for the help.

I'm guessing that you bought a new throttle rod assy. Make sure you measure and install it correctly. I had three break, two of them while it was in warranty. When the third one broke (somewhere around 90k on the clock) I fixed it myself, in an RV park 1500 miles from home. I discovered the broken one had been installed backward to the illustration in the FSM. I have no way of knowing for sure, but with my experience with Dodge dealer mechanics I think the others were installed backwards as well. Other than replacing the ends a couple times (using parts from the CANZ9700 kit) I haven't had another rod break.

Good information! I still have the old assembly, so if the rod does break, I will be able to replace it without going through another circus. I have had almost since the beginning, intermittent problems with "ghost shifting," I stumbled on a video while trying to locate the throttle linkage part that showed the TPS bracket assembly was the culprit. With age the shaft develops a wobble due to worn bushings. So the TPS gets false input SOMETIMES. Makes sense. Next project will be to locate the repair parts for the job. No rush. I think all the info was in the video (if I can find it again!). I think I bought 4 new TPS over th eyears :)
