Although I read this site almost daily, this is my first post... so please be gentle if I make a mistake.
I have a 1995 5spd with 72,000 miles. The throttle cable recall was done by the local dealer several years ago which has been it's only trip to the dealer.
Today about 50 miles from home when I pushed the foot feed down nothing happened. Would not come up above an idle. Checked the throttle cable and found the 'swivel' end (near the firewall) had come out of it's bracket. I have a 1995 service manual and on page 14-26, Fig. #7 it shows a picture of the ' throttle lever-to-injection pump lever linkage rod', and tells how to adjust it. I know both swivels will unscrew out of the rod, but how do you get the swivels out, or back in their brackets. Are they pressed in the brackets?
Oh, I used duct tape to hold the swivel in the bracket to get me home.
Thanks for any help you can give.
Jerry
