FYI
Rolling south out of Hot Lanta, all of a sudden I hear a pop, engine went to idle. Pulled to side of road thinking transmission had died again. However, after looking, determined that the throttle rod had broken. PN 5011957, #21 on parts break down. After being towed to Dodge Stealer, and putting a temporary fix (longer rod) to get me home. Finally got RPM adjusted correctly and found that PN 5011959 (the bent rod) # 18 on parts break down was also broken and only had 4 threads holding, lock nut was gone. Fixed temporarily with RPM adjusted correctly. Had to order the complete assembly.
Both rods of this assembly were fractured with about 40% metal holding them together. Could see rusty, dirty ends that were fractured, just a plain old weak metal part. Oh, well nice ride in the great big RED wrecker.
