Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) throttle problems

This weekend I took a 600 mile trip, mostly interstate. I used the cruise control most of the trip, but when I'd have to kick it out or break, and the rpm's got down around 1400-1500, the throttle would stick, I could floor it and not get any response... I'd have to downshift then upshift real quick to get the throttle back... and if I kept letting off the throttle, it wouldn't come back until I shifted... anybody had this problem before? I have an Edge EZ, and I had been mudding last week, maybe water got into one of the connections??? Any help would be most appreciated.

Check out "dealer installed an in tank lift pump". If your check engine light is on, check your codes by turning the key to on 3 times. If you get the 216 code, you could be in for a new lift and injector pump. If you want to try for the warranty replacement, you can't have any hint left of the Edge box and the check engine light has to come on again after the dealer clears it. Otherwise you get to pay $80 for the diagnosis and get told every thing is fine. Good luck.
