Archived Throw out bearing

It is a 97 5 speed & the noise is like a key being cut . I was told it was my throw out bearing but it makesthe noise all the time clutch in or out just louder with the clutch in . If it is the TOB should it always be screeching or not ?I did a search & read that it might or might not be also read of metal peices in the case.

Sorry to hear about your trouble. How many miles on the clutch? if it is older and worn the pressure plate can be pushing on the throw out bearing all the time, as the clutch wears and gets thiner, the fingers on the pressure plate protrude further from the pressure plate. This detroys the TOB and makes a noise all the time due to constant pressure. One idea hard to know whats wrong until you look.

Thanks for the info I thought about it today and the real only way is to tear it open I'll do it tommorroe with my friend,actually he will & i'll supervise Thanxs
