I had a small oil leak at the filter housing, repaired and gunked the engine now I am throwing 2 codes

PO480 cooling fan 1 control circuit

PO243 Waste gate pressure control PWM

and A/C doesn't work

pulled the connectors A/C and cleaned with WD40

pulled the waste gate connector cleaned with WD40

reset with Smarty Jr. still throwing codes

checked fuse for A/C and switched the ac relay with fog lamp relay. any ideas??

what do you mean repaired and gunked the engine? What did you do, using what materials, if any, EXACTLY? did you pressure wash the engine?

Make sure the harness is not rubbed through near the A/C compressor. Also could have residue from the Gunk and water that is shorting inside the connector(s). Are they stored or active codes?

pulled connectors apart and WD40 them. The check engine stays on even after reset . The smarty says DTC PRESENT if that helps. Will check harness at A/C pump , checked harness all looks good. It resets then when I start it light stays off till I rev it a bit then it comes back on. What else?

Sag2 is probably right on this one - you've got a short somewhere in the A/C electrical harness.

Others have had this issue and it causes all sorts of strange, seemingly-unrelated problems.

[I hate it when I do something seemingly harmless and the whole machine comes crashing down immediately thereafter. ]
