ticking in fuel tank?

i have a ticking noise coming from the fuel tank and was wondering if that is the lift pump making it or going bad

Mine does it too and I asked some time back, it's either the returning fuel, lift pump working or overflow valve. Mines been doing it and has been fine for 10K now.

That ticking you hear is the return fuel comming from the injection pump. I had a leak at the send unit just past the connector (curved metal pipe going into the unit cover) and it was spraying a mist of fuel comming out of the bend (rusted pipe) at the same beat as the ticking sound.

There's a fair amount of pressure on the back line.

After the fix, it was a lot more quiet.
