my truck makes a ticking noise BUT only when coasting (not at idle not on free rev deceleration)it only does this when coasting with your foot off the pedal. IT does this in what ever gear you choose the truck is an 02HOaround 7000miles and only a 4"kit stock otherwise. IS THIS COMMON?????

Mine does it exactly as you are describing. Sounds like a really fast clicking / ticking. I'm not really worried, it's done it since it was brand new.

When it does it, especially while traveling downhill, try moving the accellerator pedal ever so slightly, the ticking noise will speed up a little . What gives?

????

at first I was thinking maybe some thing with the VP44 but since there havent been more replies Im thinkin some thing in the front end (Im thinkin that they gut rid of the C. A. D. and created a sound on the 02 models)(wasent 02 the first year with out CAD?)

When mine does that and I rest one toe on the accelerator pedal it stops. It is the pedal rattling on mine.
