From what I have read and personal experience, the fuel filter is the culprit. There are several posts on this. I changed my filter and it quit ticking. My truck has 94000 miles on it. A tech I spoke to basicly said the clogged filter was making the lift pump tick because of to much back pressure. This may be different with some higher mileage trucks. But, it wouldn't hurt to check the filter first.

Yup

Me too.

Mine ticks when it's time to change the filter...

It's real easy to diagnose fuel issues if you have a fuel presure gauge.

280,000 on same lift pump.

3rd or 4th overflow valve.

I might be ruining my Overflow valve by not changing my fuel filter enough?
